We hiked at Fews Ford Access in Durham, NC, & it was beautiful, even during the colder months when we made this trip. Getting There From the second parking lot in the Eno River State Park, head north on the Buckquarter Creek trail until you cross over the Buckquarter Creek bridge. Sidy Toure constructed the “shelter” for performers to change, and choreography by Ava LaVonne Vinesett.ĭuring July of 2017, IYG partnered with Luís Bran (General Manager and Producer for Sendero Music/and El Almacén) and Basha Alperin (founder of ZEYBRAH) to study with members of Afro-Cuba de Matanzas and with project director Yoelkis Cruz of El Callejón de las Tradiciones Matanzas (a comprehensive community development project which includes artists working with marginalized youth to revive El Barrio de Pueblo Nuevo) for a Heal the Healing Waters campaign-focusing on Arts/Humanities/and Biodiversity. Eno River State Park is a 10-mile stretch that spans 5 access points. This 3.75 mile trail begins at the Fews Ford picnic area and quickly takes you down to the Eno River, where you will cross the suspension bridge. Description A few small boulders hidden along the run of the river. Cole Mill may be accessed from Hillsborough Road (business NC 70) or directly off of interstate 85. Getting There In Durham County (NC), follow Cole Mill Road north to its very end the road dead-ends inside the park.
It features both forest habitat and meadows. Co-sponsored by the Duke Dance Program and conceived by Vinesett and Almy-Pagán, the cast included set designs by Jessica Almy-Pagán, Cici Stevens, and Sidy Touré costumes by Gail Rouse, musicians Richard J. Vinesett, Domingo B. Vinesett, and Ava LaVonne Vinesett siren, Kamara Thomas dancers CC Croxton, Medina Johnson, Najla McClain, Amoke Ocean, Tria Smothers, and Oesa SaVionne Vinesett flag bearers Kathy Murphy and Anna Katz. This 5-trail loop hike at Eno River State Park in Durham, N.C., does a masterful job of not only giving you one of the longest hikes in the park, at 6.8 miles, but gets you away from the popular park’s crazy crowds. You can also paddle or fish in the river or have a picnic in the Fews Ford and Cole Mill sites in the park. Few's Ford is the main access point for Eno River State Park.
